Welcome to Delft

Delft is a city celebrated for its charming and welcoming ambience. It is a hub of innovation entwined with a rich tapestry of history and art, the birthplace to the master painter Johannes Vermeer and home to the prestigious Delft University of Technology. Stroll through its quintessentially Dutch streets lined with historical monuments, antique shops, buzzing cafés, and quaint eateries, all within a short walk from one another.

This picturesque city is not only about the iconic Delft Blue pottery but also about the serene canals and the verdant public spaces that offer a slice of tranquillity amidst city life. Venture just a stone's throw from the city centre, and you're greeted by the scenic beauty of the Dutch countryside, with its traditional windmills and fields adorned with colourful tulips, depending on the season.

We are excited to offer visitors the chance to explore Delft and immerse themselves in the culture, beauty, and innovative spirit of the area. We eagerly await your presence in July next year for PFDM2025, where we will not only share knowledge and insights into pavement functional design and management but also the unique experiences that Delft offers.
